What information we collect
There are a number of situations in which we ask that you disclose personal information. Upon initial registration of your VueZone gateway, we may collect personal information relevant to the situation, such as your name, phone number, email address, and contact preferences; your credit card information, mailing address and information about the VueZone products you own, such as their serial numbers, and date of purchase; and information relating to a support or service issue may be collected when you purchase, upgrade or service a VueZone product.
The my.VueZone.com website allows you to create a "my.VueZone.com Account" based on your personal information. This service is required to use the web services that support your VueZone system. Upon registering your product, the system automatically creates a personal my.VueZone.com Account for you. The next time you register a new product, all you need to do is access your my.VueZone.com Account; the system looks up the information it needs to assist you. In addition, if you update the information associated with your my.VueZone.com Account it will be available for all your future transactions with Avaak.
Using your my.VueZone.com account you can choose to keep your cameras, photos and videos private so only you can access them, restrict access to a limited number of users, or make your cameras, photos and videos public for anyone to access.
We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. VueZone use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on all web pages where personal information is required. Doing so protects the confidentiality of your personal and credit card information while it's transmitted over the Internet.
You can help us by also taking precautions to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet. Change your passwords often using a combination of letters and numbers, and make sure you use a web browser that supports SSL encryption technology.

Cookies and other technologies
As is standard practice on many corporate websites, VueZone's website uses "cookies" and other technologies to help us understand which parts of our websites are the most popular and the preferences of Avaak users. We also use cookies and other technologies to study traffic patterns on our website, to make it even more rewarding as well as to study the effectiveness of our customer communications. And we use cookies to customize your experience and provide greater convenience each time you interact with us.
For example, information such as your age (for those over the age of 13, as you must be at least 13 years of age to sign up for VueZone) and reason to purchase VueZone helps us provide a more useful Personal Video Network experience. And your contact information and product serial numbers helps us register your products and provide you with customer service.
If, however, you prefer not to enable cookies, please note that certain features of the VueZone and my.VueZone.com websites will not be available once cookies are disabled.
As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track traffic patterns around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. Avaak will not use the information collected to market directly to you without your consent.
In some of our email messages we use a "click-through URL" linked to content on the VueZone website. When a customer clicks one of these URLs, they pass through our web server before arriving at the destination web page. We track this click-through data to help us determine interest in particular topics and measure the effectiveness of our customer communications. If you prefer not to be tracked simply avoid clicking text or graphic links in the email.
In addition we may use pixel tags — tiny graphic images — to tell us what parts of our website customers have visited or to measure the effectiveness of searches customers perform on our site. Pixel tags also enable us to send email messages in a format customers can read. And they tell us whether emails have been opened to assure that we're only sending messages that are of interest to our customers. We store all of this information in a secure database located in the United States.
Our company-wide commitment to your privacy
Avaak takes protecting your privacy very seriously. To make sure your personal information is secure, we communicate these guidelines to Avaak employees and strictly enforce privacy safeguards within the company. In addition, Avaak supports industry initiatives to preserve privacy rights on the Internet and in all aspects of electronic commerce. And we do not knowingly solicit personal information from minors or send them requests for personal information.
