Nagraj Kashyap
Qualcomm Ventures
Nagraj Kashyap is a Vice President at Qualcomm and heads up worldwide activities for Qualcomm Ventures. Mr. Kashyap has over 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to his current role, Nagraj worked in various engineering and management capacities at Nortel, 3COM, Motorola, PRTM and Qualcomm. He currently actively manages and serves as a board member or observer for Qualcomm Ventures investments in Zeebo, Obopay, WaveMarket, Sotera Wireless, Avaak and Novarra. Mr. Kashyap also led Qualcomm Ventures investments in Airvana (AIRV) and Bitfone (acquired by HP in 2007). Mr. Kashyap has an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.
Fred Wang
General Partner, Trinity Ventures
Fred has more than ten years of experience in venture capital. Prior to joining Trinity in 1999, he was a partner at Spectrum Equity Investors, making investments in networking companies. Previously, Fred worked at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) working with clients such as AT&T, WilTel, Lucent, Philips, and Siemens. Before BCG, Fred held operating positions in the New Technologies Group at Pacific Bell and at Intuit. Fred is a board member of Western Association of Venture Capital (WAVC), an advisor to the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), and actively involved with the Harvard Business School Alumni Association of Northern California and the Stanford University Campaign for Undergraduate Education. Fred has an MBA from Harvard University, an MS, Industrial Engineering and a BS, Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
Mike Boich
A founding CEO of three companies, Mike Boich has more than 20 years of experience in the hardware, semiconductor and software industries. Mike co-founded and served as the CEO of Rendition, an InterWest-backed graphics chip company, acquired by Micron Technology in 1998. Prior to Rendition, he was the founding CEO of an InterWest-backed Macintosh peripherals company, Radius, which grew from zero to $100 million in four years under his leadership. Additionally, he served as CEO of Eazel, an open source software company whose software now ships with all major Linux distributions. Prior to InterWest, Mike invested in information technology companies for Alta Partners. At the beginning of his career, he worked on the Apple Macintosh project as the first Software Evangelist. Mike holds a B.A. in economics from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Tom Rosch
InterWest Partners
Tom Rosch joined InterWest's IT team at the end of 1999. He focuses on wireless and mobility, digital media and Internet, datacenter infrastructure and semiconductor opportunities. He is currently a board member of OmniPV, Quantance, and SiliconOptix. He is a board observer of AMEC, Brite Semiconductor and Staccato Communications.
Prior to InterWest, Rosch was a partner at AT&T Ventures, where he focused on networking, software infrastructure and semiconductors. Prior to that, Rosch was senior manager of the Media Convergence Practice at The Boston Consulting Group and an analyst at Morgan Stanley.
Rosch received his M.B.A. and J.D. from Stanford University, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard University.
Greg Drew
President, CEO, Avaak
Greg is an accomplished CEO and entrepreneur with a 30 year track record of operations, acquisitions, funding and board experience. He has experience with leading companies in the technology industry that include Smartdrive Systems, Webtrends (spun out from NetIQ), 800Electronics (Founder), Central Point Software (acquired by Symantec), NOW Software (acquired by Qualcomm) and Hewlett-Packard. Greg is a founding board member of the Web Analytics Association, a current board member of Ace Metrix (advertising analytics) and past chairman of the Software Association of Oregon. He is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickenson University, with a BS in business management.
Gioia Messinger
Founder, Chairman, Avaak
Gioia is a seasoned CEO and high tech entrepreneur who combines entrepreneurial spirit, business management expertise, and a rich history of success and innovation in wireless, sensing, and imaging technologies. She brings extensive operational and management experience to lead Avaak into wide-scale consumer adoption of its VueZone products. Prior to Avaak, she founded SUMMIT Design Technologies, Inc. an engineering services firm with Fortune 500 clients such as Motorola, Lockheed Martin, Texas Instruments, and SAIC. While at SUMMIT, Gioia was instrumental in helping her clients create novel technologies such as digital satellite television, cellular telephone chipsets, and satellite phone systems. She was also Founder and CEO of MedSmart, Inc. a medical information systems company that developed patient-centric, web-enabled software solutions for healthcare systems such as UCSD School of Medicine, Sharp Hospital, and Kaiser Permanente of California.
Gioia received her master's degree with highest distinctions in Business Administration from the University of California-Irvine, Graduate School of Management, and bachelor and master's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California-San Diego.
She has 8 patents pending in areas related to wireless video networks.
